Leveling up looks different for me this year. As I began 2025, I paused to listen to the mixed emotions that swirl around the start of a New Year. Creating a vision board helped me know what my spirit craved: not more things to do but more space to just BE. It also reminded me of one of my favorite quotes from King David, the psalmist who writes, “Be still and know that I am God.”
What is it about the importance of stillness that ancient wisdom calls to us? Perhaps it is that stillness where we find knowing…we find ourselves…and we find God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
Stillness. Sigh… just writing this makes me exhale. In a world of rushing, striving, hustling, and pushing—stillness is foreign. But it is exactly what we need for clarity.
Clarity specifically around finding good guides. Guides can come in many forms – coaches, teachers, parents, peers, counselors, pastors, mentors, parents, spiritual directors, authors, and speakers– but I have found that they come when we need new growth.
Each is skilled in helping us level up in life.
The idea of “leveling up” is included in the Courage section of my book because it requires bravery to face where you need to grow. And choosing the right guide to get you there is important. When you invite in a good guide to shine a light on the path ahead, you’re able to focus your energy on changing and growing— not fumbling around in the dark.
Perhaps you’re looking for a guide in your life, or you’re enjoying the stillness. Wherever you find yourself, please join us as we discuss it in my upcoming podcast series– Good Guides– and in my book, The Life You’re Made For. I wrote this book as a guidebook to increase your clarity, build your confidence, and engage your courage as you step into the life that only YOU are made for. And if you’re looking for more guidance I offer a Coaching Companion that goes along with the book as well as an e-course that supports the journey.
I wish I could sit down with each of you and listen to all the twists and turns of your inspiring life, but what I can do is offer my e-course at a discounted rate through February 28 as my Valentine to you.
And if you’d like to express your gratitude, writing a review on Amazon as a self-published author goes a long way. 🙂
As always, I’m cheering you on!
